Can life lived at a slower pace still be filled with adventure? As B&B owners, newly transplanted from high-speed city living, to 75 acres of rural sprawl in Prince Edward County, our lives are teeming with new experiences. Not only are we discovering what it means to care for the extensive flora and fauna that call this land 'home', but we are also welcoming guests into our lives everyday; and when it comes to people, we never know what characters we will meet.
Recently, our team had the pleasure of welcoming Jeremy, of The Open Road Podcast, as a guest. He and his wife, Katie, were on their own adventure, travelling in Ontario, when they decided to make a quick overnight stay in the County on their way home. It was a drizzly spring day, and feeling no urgency to go outside, we settled in and got to know one-another over a cup of tea.
Listen-in to our conversation with The Open Road as we discuss what adventure means to us in our everyday life.
Meeting new people and hearing their stories; that's adventure to us. Embarking on this new journey and saying yes to the things that fill us with joy, well, that's adventure too.
The art of slow-living is about bringing intension to every day actions, and becoming aware that adventure dwells in the grand as well as the day-to-day.
Many thanks to Jeremy, Katie and The Open Road Podcast for sharing our story.
